Two years ago, we embarked on a Building Project which made the best use of what we already had, whilst substantially refurbishing and upgrading the facilities that are used by the Church and external groups throughout the week.
We have made steady progress since, including obtaining Planning Approval earlier this year, and are now at the stage where we are getting ready for the construction phase. Throughout, we have sensed God’s guidance and blessing over the project, and we are looking forward to having buildings that can better accommodate activities for both the church and the community.
The project has the following aims:
-
a new modern entrance foyer and reception providing access to all halls
-
new offices for admin staff and ministers
-
improved accessibility with level floors internally and proper ramped approaches
-
a level floor and loose seating in the sanctuary to permit more flexibility of use
-
new wc facilities, including a fully-accessible wc compartment
-
a new kitchen, located more centrally and able to serve into a number of spaces
-
a new heating system with better flexibility, and improved lighting
-
redecoration and new carpets throughout
-
addressing numerous maintenance issues
Building work is due to start at the beginning of March 2008, completing in October. During this period, we will be holding our Sunday services and Sunday Schools at Woodlands School on Harefield.
