Thornhill Baptist Church is a community of men, women, children and young people seeking to grow in our love for God and our neighbour. We believe that God loves all of creation and can still change lives and situations - it is our desire to work with him in seeing his love, justice, mercy and peace become reality among us, in our neighbourhood and in the wider world.
We meet together on Sundays and in small groups each week to worship God, learn more about God, share our stories, support and encourage each other so that we can live out our faith in words and actions 24/7.<;br /> It is our hope that TBC is a community where all will feel welcomed, valued and accepted, a safe place to explore faith and to join together in loving and serving our wider community, with our lives, activities and buildings.
Vision and Values
We believe the greatest commandment - ‘love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbour as yourself,’(Luke 10:27) provides a dynamic framework for fulfilling our vision. This commandment can be broken down into three facets - love the Lord your God (UP), love your neighbour (OUT) and love yourselves (IN). By using the model of a triangle, holding the three different emphases and directions for growth in balance we will ensure we are obeying Jesus and nurturing a healthy, balanced church community life.
The leadership (across right), made up of Ministers and Deacons, make the day to day decisions, supported by a large proportion of the members serving in various ways
