Sunday Morning at 10.30am
Adults and children gather from Southampton and surrounding areas to praise and
worship God. The whole church meets together for worship for 20 minutes, this normally
includes a children's talk and a time of praise. After this the children and young
people go off to their own groups. The service includes songs, prayers, news and
updates, readings from the Bible and a sermon. The sermons follow a themed programme
and may well tie into the Housegroup studies too. Services end at around 11.45am
and you are welcome to join us in the back hall for coffee.
Family services take place once every two months, these are shorter services where
children and young people are invited to stay in and take part, they usually end
by 11.20am. A crèche is available for young children every Sunday. During the Family
services young children are more than welcome to play with the toys at the back
of the church if they are getting fidgety.
Sunday Evenings at 6.30pm
Please note there are no evening services for the duration of the Building Project
Evening services have a smaller attendance but provide the opportunity to explore
different styles of worship. Some evenings have focussed on Around the World mission,
have been led by the Young People, involved Songs of Praise, Testimony, or Café
Church where we meet in a more informal setting to discuss topics and issues. The
Service usually ends by 7.30pm.
Communion
Communion is celebrated on the fourth Sunday service of the month in the morning,
and the second Sunday in the evening. All who follow Jesus and know Him as their
Lord and Saviour are welcome to share in the meal.
Music
A blend of traditional and contemporary songs, mainly drawn from Songs of Fellowship,
is used in worship. A projector provides song lyrics to the congregation and there
are large print versions available if you need them, please ask a steward. Each
week musicians and singers join in leading the worship, there is also a keen youth
orchestra that plays on occasion.
